DALTON 3-STEP-PLAN
Our sustainability strategy is about much more than ticking off some random items on an agenda. For us, what matters is the big picture. We strive for projects that are interlinked, complement each other and can run in the long term without compromising the high effectiveness of our products.

Sustainable packaging conserves valuable resources, clean formulas ensure a high ratio of natural ingredients and climate-friendly shipping reduces CO2 emissions.
REDUCE
Our aim is to use as little packaging as possible and only where it is necessary. In other words, we do not use outer packaging such as folding boxes, if our products allow it. To ensure that no information is lost, our products have QR codes that take you directly to the product page with detailed information.
REUSE
With our guiding principle always in mind, we are embarking on completely new paths in our anti-aging segment. We are gradually switching from plastic to sustainable glass packaging – and we even have environmentally friendly refills for our cream jars now. We are currently working on making our dispensers available as refills too.
RECYCLE
This part of our sustainability strategy addresses the use of recycled materials and recyclable packaging.
Using recycled materials: Our tubes are made of 38% recycled materials. And this is just the first step. We are currently testing tubes made of 50% or more recyled materials.
Recyclable packaging: Did you know that glass and PET can be recycled indefinitely? For this reason, we have decided to switch to glass packaging. We are also already at an advanced stage of testing if we can switch some product packaging to PET.
We are Climate Partners, because every change counts! For every folding box we offset the CO2 emissions we produce by supporting various climate protection projects to reduce CO2. At the same time, we also support projects that focus on reducing plastic waste in the world’s oceans and improving access to clean drinking water.

Sustainable marine cosmetics
Our oceans are more than just a source of inspiration for powerful skincare formulas. They are more than twice the size of all land combined. This huge biosphere is bursting with exceptional marine diversity, and it must be protected. For this reason, we take great care to ensure that our raw materials are sourced and produced sustainably. It goes without saying that we also do NOT do animal testing.
We are aware of our responsibility and feel obligated to do our part to protect the oceans. With 4Ocean, we support a global organization with the mission of ridding the world’s oceans of plastic waste. The non-profit organization Schutzstation Wattenmeer e.V. has been campaigning for the preservation and protection of the Wadden Sea on the German North Sea coast since 1962. We value this unique biosphere reserve very highly and it is particularly important to us to be part of this initiative. Oclean Hamburg has set itself the goal of educating people on waste prevention and plastic pollution and raising awareness by organizing public cleanup events. Thanks to you, we can also make a contribution through our fundraising campaigns.
Clean Beauty
Clean Beauty does not yet have an exact definition. However, it is generally understood to mean products formulated without controversial, functional ingredients that were previously needed to give a product certain properties. For some years now, we have been avoiding using PEGs, parabens, mineral oils and microplastics, as well as palm oil that is not sustainably sourced, in all new developments wherever possible. When we use fragrances in our products, they are of course always allergen-free.
We understand the importance of "free from" claims and strive to meet these expectations. At the same time, our formulas should always be highly effective. That is why we are constantly looking for better alternatives and are ready to replace existing ingredients as soon as we have found a better solution. Because at DALTON we strive to develop products that are both highly effective and responsible.

And here we’ve come full circle. From sustainable packaging to clean formulas, climate-friendly shipping of our products is another key factor for an efficient sustainability strategy. For this reason, we use recycled packaging material and CO2-neutral shipping services .
