What are ampoules?

Ampoule vials contain 2 ml of liquid concentrate, brimming with high concentrations of ingredients. Your choice of ampoule should not necessarily be based on your skin type, but on the current condition of your skin. Do ampoules make sense for every skin type?

Jasmin Zentara: "Ampoules are a great way to cater to the ever changing needs of your skin without having to change up all the products in your routine. They can also replenish and soothe the skin after exposure to stress, like a cold, harsh winter."

How often should I do an ampoule treatment?

Jasmin Zentara: "There is no one definite answer to that question – it depends. Personally I’d recommend repeating the ampoule treatment every 3 months. If you know your skin well, and the condition it is in, you will know intuitively when it’s time to start the next ampoule treatment cycle."

Should an ampoule be used up all at once?

Jasmin Zentara: "Ampoules contain only a minimum of preservatives, so it’s better to use them up immediately after opening. If you still have some product left after applying it to the face, don’t forget your neck and décolleté."

Am I allowed to use other skincare products during an ampoule treatment?

Jasmin Zentara: "It’s actually very important not to neglect your regular daily skincare routine while you’re doing the ampoule treatment. If you exfoliate before the treatment, it will be easier for the skin to absorb the ingredients. Furthermore, you should always gently cleanse the skin before applying an ampoule. Follow these easy steps and the ampoule treatment will have a guaranteed wow-effect!"

How to open ampoules

We receive lots of questions about how to open and apply ampoules correctly. However, it’s really easy when you use the right technique.

1. Always clean your skin before applying an ampoule

2. Shake the ampoule before use. Face the dot on the ampoule towards you, place the ampoule opener onto the top of the ampoule and bend it backwards.

3. Pour the serum into the palm of your hand, then gently massage it onto face, neck and décolleté. Tip: Tapping lightly on the bottom of the ampoule will loosen any serum residue more easily.

4. Finish with your skincare regimen.
