What skin type do you have? Time to find out!
- Cleanse your face thoroughly with a gentle cleanser.
- Pat your skin dry – don’t rub!
- Don’t use any other products and wait for about 30 minutes.
Now it's your turn! How does your skin feel? What do you notice when you look into the mirror? Your observations are crucial to figure out which skin type you actually have!

Q&A: Your Questions | ||
Does oily skin need hydration?
Answer: Yes, absolutely! Some people with oily skin feel that they should avoid using a moisturizer. However, you should never try to dehydrate oily skin, as that will just cause the sebaceous glands to overcompensate and produce even more oil. Instead, go for a lightweight, mattifying moisturizer that will hydrate the skin while reducing excess oil at the same time.
Which skin type benefits from exfoliating?
Answer: Unless you suffer from a chronic-inflammatory skin disease, gentle exfoliation should always be a part of your weekly skincare routine. This will get rid of dead skin cells, improve skin texture and make it easier for the skin to absorb the products that follow. Depending on your skin type, there are different kinds of peels or scrubs you could use. Make sure to read our exfoliation guide to learn more about chemical, mechanical and enzymatic exfoliators and which one suits you best.
What if I have characteristics of several different skin types?
Answer: In fact, it is not uncommon to have a combination of different skin types. It is also normal for your skin to change throughout the year, due to external influences (seasonal factors, indoor heating) as well as genetic or hormonal factors. Tip: Lightweight formulas are perfect for summer,whereas lipid-rich formulations are best for the colder months. You could also combine serums, face masks and moisturizers from different product lines to meet all of your skin’s specific needs.
