O2 Oxygenation Effect

Oxygen is bound to perfluorcarbons (organic hydrocarbon compounds).

Perfluorcarbons have some important applications in medicine, where they are used as oxygen carriers.

The special carrier molecules transport the oxygen atoms through the lipid layer to the cells that are not adequately oxygenated.
